Doctor

According to the doctor, baby is actually head down- still! I could have sworn she had flipped back up, but I guess that round hard thing I've been feeling banging up against my ribs has been her tushy....kid is going to be a soccer player from the feeling of it! I was getting a little nervous when the nurse couldn't find her heartbeat, but she was squirming around so much and kicked at the nurse when she tried to get the baby into a better position---had to laugh at that one! Eventually Mom got to hear her strong heartbeat. Mom asked the doctor about delivery and we were told it could be anytime after two weeks, but I haven't dialated any, so who knows.

Safety first!

Josh is on a safety kick and wanting to make sure everything is ready for when the baby makes her way home. One thing that we have been waiting for is to get the carseats set up. Mom brought one down that a friend had given her, but ours was still in the box. Josh decided to put it together so we could take it over to the fire department and have it properly set up in the car. I think our swear jar should have over a thousand dollars in it by now if Josh actually put money in it the way he said he would. He gets frustrated, but eventually everything gets put together!
If you're wondering why it's blue--he said he refused to push around a pink stroller, so teal and brown won out. Still kind of girly!

Dad

As soon as Dad even heard that we were trying to have a baby, he promised that he would supply the baby with camo baby clothes. I thought he was kidding......he wasn't. I knew he had made a trip to Cabella's since finding out about the baby, but he wouldn't tell me what he bought. On Saturday I found out. He got a straight up camo onesie, one with lace on the butt and around the neck, camo booties, a camo pacifier, and camo booties. My poor daughter....

Robert E Lee Party

The staff from Josh's school-- RE Lee Elementary--threw a party for us too. The fifth grade grade team had everything set up for us in the library after school on Monday.

Shower

Here are a few pictures from the shower on April 25 given by Andrea and Kelley- love ya both! Everyone had a great time and had fun trying to guess the "poop". And yes, I know I'm large. Kelley had just seen me the week before and said it looked like I had grown. The baby is putting on all her weight in these last few weeks :).

Gotta Smile

Ok after the crap day I've had, you've just got to laugh and eat some comfort food. Plus the fact the the little nudger in there is getting the hiccups more often--I just giggle everytime it happens--it's enough. I'm counting down the days to having some good friends back in town and Mom and Dad coming down this weekend will brighten my mood I'm sure. I better go get started with some chores I've been putting off- dishes, cleaning some clutter, etc. I don't think I'm going to get out of cooking tonight though. Yuck. Tomorrow is going to be busy- parent conferences...fun!

Sitting

Ok so one more thing...I can 100% without a doubt tell that I am getting bigger....people, you don't have to stare at me with your mouth wide open anymore...I get it! How can I tell? I can't freakin' put my legs together when I sit!! She just hangs down in what was once my lap. So if you are local and reading this and see me, yes, I'm almost 9 months pregnant, yes, I look it! I don't need reminding! ;)

Back to Work

All things considered, the day went pretty well. The kids all came back with colds and I had to send one home sick this morning. I'm sure that means by the end of the week I'll be sick too.

We had our first childbirth class last night and, honestly, if you watch the Baby Story you get the same information, but we're sticking it out- it's only three more times. I'm looking forward to the tour of the birthing center. We were told to bring our own birthing ball if I wanted to use one so I guess Josh will deflate it and pack it in "the bag" when the time comes. The nurse gave me some positions to try at home to get the baby to flip...pretty sure that the hard ball under my ribs is still her head. I guess she didn't really like being head down since she only stayed there for a few days.

We're back!

We had fun at the beach, but wish the sun would have cooperated a little more! Josh and I have never seen the town so dead, but it's considered off season. Wednesday night was so freezing, we cranked the heat on in our room. Thursday was nice, but windy. I think I walked way too much and got worn out by the afternoon and had to take a break. Today we woke up to a beautiful day- of course. We headed out to the sand for a little bit before having to head home. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

So ready

Just a quick comment...I'M DONE WITH BEING PREGNANT! Now I know why my friends couldn't wait for me to go through this....they wanted me to suffer the same way they did. Kelley...your time is coming and I will enjoy it! I still have a little over 5 weeks and it doesn't sound like a long time....trust me it feels like forever. Those good feeling days from the winter when I thought "Hey, I could do this forever!" are now dragging by. I never should have even thought about what pregnant women complain about, I now know.

Easter Sunday

Oh this will surely go down as one of the worst Easters so far in my life. I had to call the doctor this morning after it took me over an hour to eat two pieces of toast and they didn't exactly stay inside. She said it sounded like I had the neurovirus and should be feeling better by tomorrow since I started feeling dead on Friday night. Bless her, she also gave me some anti nausea pills that seem to have stopped the rolling feelings of vomit. I'm trying to stay hydrated- she said if I get too dehydtrated it could start contractions...not really reay for that yet! Wish me luck with the chicken broth I made!!

Bad Day

Today has been a bad day. I can't seem to catch my breath if I'm standing for more than a few minutes. Plus I forgot that one of the third trimester perks is the return of morning sickness feelings. I'm hoping I feel better by Wednesday. One of our favorite things to do at the beach is to walk Atlantic Ave and I'm not sure I'll be able to do it if I feel like this....I need one of those Jazzy scooter things! Josh made me some tea, but it didn't help. I think I'll just stick to crackers until this fun feeling goes away. I slept for over two hours this afternoon and woke up still feeling nauseous.

Vacation!

We finally made it to Spring Break!!! Easter is going to be quiet this year. Last year we were in Myrtle Beach, the year before we were on a cruise, this year it's going to be just us relaxing. I'm going to enjoy this time- last vacation without the baby.

Class results

Ok so want to know the main lesson we walked away knowing tonight??

If there is something on our daughter's skin.....don't pick it off. Wasn't that worth it?

We did learn a few things though- like not to put soap on the baby's face for the first year, no lotions for the first month, no sunscreen for the first six months, all the different horrible things that can happen within the first few months of life...yeah that was uplifting to hear about. Tomorrow I go solo for the feeding class.

Class

Tonight is our first baby class! I'm a little nervous about what I don't know, but that's why we're going! Josh has never put a diaper on a baby, so he better take notes during that part :). I'll post more about it tomorrow- we won't get home tonight until late.

Too Cute!

Josh and I went to Children's Place yesterday. When I saw these, I knew I HAD to have them! I can't wait to take the baby out to the pool with her wearing these!

Something New

I'm giving in and trying out Myspace. The address is myspace/wendywoo1979
There's not much there yet, but I'll play with it more later to figure out how to get all the cool little things on it.

Want one!

I almost peed my pants when I saw this! I always joke about the Snuggie...well....they weren't done with just the blanket and sleeves!

Quick Update

This morning Josh reminded me that today is opening day for King's Dominion. Wish we could go, but I'd be huffing and puffing and just staring at Josh while he had all the fun. Next year we'll drag the baby along with us! Anyone want to be the designated stroller watcher??

I still am having problems sleeping, but I will never complain after the leg pain I had a few weeks ago. Only 6 weeks and 6 days left. As soon as I stand up, the pain goes away so now I need to rig a way to sleep standing up.

We only have this week left of school before Spring Break and going to VA Beach for two or three nights. I found a really cheap hotel on the main strip, but not oceanfront. We'll decide for sure this week. Va beach isn't exactly a hot spot for Spring Break- I'm sure the rooms will still be available in a few days.

OH! I forgot! This week we start going to baby classes at the hospital!
