Halloween at King's Dominion

Last year we didn't go to Kings Dominion in the fall, but we thought we would give it a try this year. They had a ton of things for the kids to do like a treasure hunt, pumpkin patch, corn maze, and the characters all dressed up.

Baking!

Juliette always loves helping when we cook. Lately baking is a great way to keep her attention and, while we love playing princesses...it gets old after a while! So here are our most recent baking attempts. We "made" Cinderella cookies- my favorite kind that you just take off the tray in the box and put them on the cookie sheet. Juliette, Amber, and I made pretzels from the Auntie Anne's kit, and finally Juliette and I baked whole wheat apple muffins on our rainy Sunday afternoon.

Baking is hard work! As seen by the flour smudge on her cheek :)

HAHAHA

Yes sometimes I look back through the pictures and remember and thank the stars I'm over certain stages of babyhood---but this one got me smiling. I never noticed it before in the picture....my sweet little baby (about 4  months old) is flipping off the camera.

Ahh the end of the ice show.

Beauty and the Beast. Juliette was very concerned that Belle didn't have on her yellow dress, but in the end she came out in it!

Ice show Part 3

After the intermission came Brave- the only part of the show Juliette didn't recognize, but she still sat through it like a good little person and watched everything. She didn't like the booms when they shot the arrows with fireworks attached. This is where I could really see the difference 7 months makes in a little person's life. When she didn't know the characters last year, she bounced around between us, not really watching. Not so this year!

Merida- the guy in front of us was wearing a flounder hat...hence the floating fish.

The triplets skating on the barrels--Juliette liked them the best
The clan suitors coming to try to marry Merida
Queen Eleanor and Juliette watching very closely!
Mickey reading the story of Brave.

Ice show part 2

The Tangled part of the show

 Mother..not a nice one either!

 Flynn Rider

 Knocked out cold :)

The Maximus horse costume was amazing
Happy ending of course. The lanterns were pretty cool.

 New Belle doll
 And a kiss for Daddy

Lots to share

So after announcing that Juliette was all better...the whole house gets sick except for me hahahahaha. Juliette came down with a cold and no voice, then Nana got it, now Daddy has it. Luckily it didn't hit too badly until after Disney. So the story of our day.....

We drove down to Richmond and told Juliette she was going to get to put on her Sleeping Beauty dress which she agreed to immediately. Then she started noticing all the other little girls in princess dresses and asked why they were dressed up. Well as soon as we walked into the venue she knew what was up. Oh and so much for my plan of not buying anything since we had her Ariel wand. Before we even got in there, Nana bought her a program book, then we got inside and she saw a Belle doll which someone...ahem..Daddy...bought her. Then as we left she saw a Belle cup. They actually had the nerve to charge extra for the matching straw. It was all worth it and we had a great time. I think next time though I would get seats either directly in the front row or the first level with stadium like seating because we were sitting directly behind people by being on the floor. She loved seeing all her favorites and even liked Mirada from Brave although when she came out she asked me who it was. When Pinochio (spelling?) came out she got excited and shouted "It's Dokie doh!" She sang along with Ariel and Rapunzel. When Ursula came out she just wanted to make sure that octopus was staying on the ice and not coming up to us in our seats! The Beast kind of scared her a little and she hid in my jacket.

 Minnie!
 The evil stepsisters from Cinderella
 Prince Eric!
 Ariel
 Uh oh Ursula

 She's got legs!

Happy ending of course
