Demo Day 1

The contractor and his helper were at the house for a few hours today and Mom is officially not staying in the room anymore so it's to the couch where she slept for the first few weeks after Juliette was born. It's a little scary to see a hole in my house. And just like every other project we've had people do in the house, they always find something that has them scratching their heads. Apparently the bathroom had been redone before and the owners put a new floor in...on top of the rotting floor...I guess they didn't want to bother removing it. Fun for the Long family.

What?

Do I have something on my face?

So Cute

A photo opportunity is always available with this little one! She loves these beads and would carry them everywhere if she could. This is her new carpet for her play area since she showed us she can now bite off parts of foam from her ABC letter mats...we'll just save those for later.

No nap for you!

Hmm Daddy thinks he's going to take a nap...not if Juliette has anything to do with it!!

Find a happy place..find a happy place

I just have to do two things-

1- stay out of the room

2- realize it's going to be beautiful when it's done!

Pillows!

One of the moms at music said her daughter loves to flop on pillows so I brought our pillows out to see what Juliette would do. She went nuts! She got so excited and would throw herself on them and laugh when the pillowcase would slide across the floor. She likes Josh's pillows because they smell like him.

Just Say No!

A picture is worth a thousand words. Someday we will use this for eeeeevil.

Face off

Sadie is a little bit sick of being Juliette's pull toy, but is still a good sport.
Staring contest- you , me...go!

Updates

All last week we were without phone, internet, or cable. It was not pretty to watch Josh on vacation without Xbox Live let me tell ya. Juliette is doing great and seemes to have hit a learning growth spurt. It's like she learns something new everyday. Mom taught her how to do So Big and hold up her arms, she's doing some new sounds like guh, and finally something that sounds like mama. I'm sick of Josh getting all the fun with Dada :). I got her the Baby Can Read program, you know you've watched the infomercial admit it! It can't hurt her so why not. The first time she watched it we got about halfway through and she lost inerest. Now she can sit through the entire video- about 17 minutes long- twice a day. I'll post pictures from this week and last weel later when she's napping.

Easter weekend

Juliette loved her Easter basket filled with her favorite instruments from kindermusik. We even got a day in Washington, D.C. to see the cherry blossoms. I will not go into detail about the whole parking issue, just know it took us almost two hours to find where we parked the car. I was very tempted to leave the Jeep in D.C and take the loss! Josh and my dad worked very hard to get the baby's swimgset put up and got it finished Sunday night. So here are a TON of pictures documenting the holiday weekend.

The beginning...doesn't look like much yet

Starting to come together....

ALL DONE!!

Juliette loves her swing. Now I don't have to drive to the park!

On the Metro heading to the Tidal Basin for the cherry blossoms.

Juliette kept cool....with only her feet hanging out.

The Lincoln Memorial as seen from the WWII Memorial.

Juliette doesn't really like drinking plain water, but on a hot day and a grown up squeeze bottle and she was all over that water!

She kept begging Grandpa for more!

Having a fruit snack under the blossoms...just squeeze into her mouth and voila!

Josh was very proud of taking this picture! :)

Juliette liked the blossoms too!

On the Mall looking at the Washington Monument...welll the bottom of it.

The White house and Juliette. The lawn was all set for the egg roll on Monday.

Rock out baby!

Anything else in here guys?

Park

Juliette loves to crawl through the tunnel at the playground in Hollybrooke. Especially if it's crawling after Tommy or Ben!

Oh my

Building blocks

Today I gave Juliette the blocks I used to play with when I was at my grandparents' house. If you knew Grandma and Grandpa Dell, consider yourself lucky. I loved being over there and it was the only place I played with these. When I got them out, the smell and the sound of them instantly took me back to when I was little.
