Happy Halloween!!

This is something that I've missed about teaching middle school for five years---the excitement of the kids. All month we're been doing Halloween themed stories and poems and songs. 8th graders would look at me like I was on drugs if I tried that, but the little ones LOVE it. Anywho...thought I'd share that little tidbit. Tonight we went to Salem Fields for Trunk or Treat. Cars line up in the parking lot with their trunks decorated and you just go from car to car and fill your bag. Josh was pretty excited about "helping" Juliette eat her candy. We bundled her up in her pumpkin costume (just like in PA with another outfit underneath since it was chilly) and off we went. I also brought her winter had with the ear flaps since it ties and she can't rip it off because I was worried she would fling her pumpkin hat off. She surprised me and kept it on the entire time we were there---guess she was cold too!! So here are the pictures!!

A special message from my pumpkin!!
Ok guys let's go!!!!

Hmmm Can I lift this?

I can roll it!

A warm up snack.

Meeting up with our friends at their car.

Stuff can go in here!! I love when stuff goes inside!

Here Daddy- you can hold my Snicker. Of course I'll need it back.

My favorite babysitter Rachel.

My buddy Emilie as Dora.

Bright ideas

A shortcut suggested by Uncle Chris....he forgot about all the stairs. Yes, Juliette is still in there.
I couldn't look for this one--Kelley took the picture. They wanted to take Juliette out onto the stepping stones--in her stroller.

Daddy and Juliette

Maymont Park

We were supposed to spend today with Chris and Kelley down in Westmoreland. Kelley called this morning with the idea of going to Maymont Park in Richmond which is somewhere I've been wanting to go with Juliette. So we quickly rethought everything and packed the car and off we went to Richmond. She had a great time with freedom out of the stroller since there was fencing everywhere, looking at the animals, and seeing her buddies Chris and Kelley. When she saw their car pull into the parking lot she pointed and started jumping up and down. She missed her afternoon nap and I thought she would sleep in the car on the way home, but she was too busy watching Mickey on the DVD player...love that thing. She went to bed a little early and will hopefully sleep until after 7--fingers crossed.

Ready for the park!
Checking out the goats.

ok that's enough- Uncle Chris save me!

Hmm these things are interesting!

Sooo tired, but must eat!

Shopping!

Juliette loves her shopping cart. She will open the cabinet, pull things out and put them in her cart. This morning she kept taking her juice pouches out and putting them in there.

Cuddling with Mickey

Just a cute picture of her with her Mickey....she now calls out KEE when she sees him. We'll work on the whole word later :)

Goldfish disaster

I stayed home with Juliette today since the sitter had scheduled appointments for today. All was going well until she dug into the cupboard and pulled out the goldfish bag.....upside down. This is the result. She was quite proud of herself and laughed like a crazy person while she helped herself to this feast. She was not too happy with me though when I vacuumed up her treasure.

Mouthful of her fishies!

Utensils

Cindy told me that Juliette is getting good at using a spoon at her house, so I'm trying to get her to use it more at home too. I guess I just don't want her to be TOO independent :).

Uh-Oh

Check out what Juliette can do! She also likes to sit in the edge of the cabinet and just watch us.

Juliette and Daddy

So much hair!

Juliette found her brush and started brushing her own hair last night. Way too cute....and finally proof of something I taught her :)

She's got the beet!

We found another one of Juliette's faves in canned red beets. She loves them! Josh gags at the smell and I just laugh---she's got a little of her grandpa in her!

Lost Picture

was going through my old e-mail and found this picture that Sharee sent me from Ben's second birthday. I forgot all about them so I'm glad I went back in my mailbox. Way too cute.
