Another way we tried to keep cool was heading to one of the downtown community centers for a children's art expo where the kids got to make all kinds of things. Juliette loved painting a rock, picking out ribbons for a wind disc, gluing shapes on a paper plate, making a macaroni necklace, choosing stickers to put on a paper bag, and watching the mad scientist make dry ice cloud bubbles. We stayed away from the glitter, but she picked up some sequins and studied her "sparklies" very closely. Here is the wind disc and her necklace.
